Taiwanese Government Urged to Dissuade Teenagers from using Cell Phones
Central News Agency English News on October 7, 2008 reported: "The Taiwan Electromagnetic Radiation Hazard Protection and Control Association (TEPCA) presented evidence showing 89.6% of senior high school students surveyed used cell phones and that, of the 33 types of mobile phones marketed in the country, 60% of them released electromagnetic radiation 1 million times higher than the background level. The association said that although cell phones have become a necessary device in modern life, industrial countries, including Britain, Germany, France, Belgium, Italy and Russia, have all advised children, teenagers and pregnant women to refrain from using cell phones out of health concerns."
